Annual Budweiser "Guns 'N Hoses" Is Thanksgiving Eve At Savvis Center
The 15th annual Budweiser "Guns 'N Hoses" on Wednesday, November
27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Savvis Center will again benefit the St.
Louis Backstoppers. The major fund-raiser last year aided the families
of Firefighters and Police Officers who died in the World Trade
Center terrorist attack of Sept. 11, 2001.
Funds raised
this year should push the total raised by "Guns 'N Hoses" to more
than $1 million since 1987. Of that amount, $668,000 has been donated
to the Backstop-pers and $262,000 was raised last year for the needs
in New York.
Last year's
event attracted a record crowd of 17,121 to the Savvis Center.

Train Commuting Made Easy
Commuting by train in Japan has become more enjoyable according
to a Reuters' wire story. "One train company
has found a way to help it's passengers relax" during summertime
Japan's high heat and humidity. "Customers who book a seat
on Fuji Kyuko's Friday night beer run can sit back and spend
a two-hour trip being served as much locally brewed beer as
they can drink," the story said but adding, "However, beer-drinking
passengers should take advantage of stops at stations along
the route because the train has no toilets."
Kirin
Brews Beer Fit For Pharaohs
Kirin Brewery Company of Japan, which has an alliance with
Anheuser-Busch, tapped a recipe enshrined in ancient Egyptian
hieroglyphics to produce a 4,400 year old brew fit for a Pharaoh.
According to an Associated Press story, the
"Old Kingdom Beer" has no froth, a dark tea color and contains
10% alcohol, about twice the punch of con-temporary beers.
Kirin has no plans to sell the beer commercially and it was
brewed for an October meeting of the Master Brewers Association.
