Michelob Ultra Takes Center Stage
Numerous wire service stories and television reports recently
focused on low carbohydrate diets and virtually all mentioned
fast growing Michelob Ultra. An Associated Press
story quoted Beer Marketers Insight
editor Benj Steinman saying, “It’s
been the most successful new product since light beer,”
he said. Most stories said Michelob Ultra has captured 2.1
percent of total beer sales and noted several competitors
have introduced low-carbohydrate beers or are planning to
do so.
